Orange Sheet Information

My Student Received an Orange Sheet

Your student has finished all 7 of the required driving lessons, but still needs some improvement in certain skills required to complete the course.

Students must complete 4 fundamental requirements to qualify for the Texas Driver’s License and most importantly, have a chance to be a safe driver. These 4 requirements are:

  1. Pass Track I Test:
    Test in minimum traffic environment
  2. Drive on Track II
  3. Take 1 Lesson on the Freeway:
A fundamental requirement for anyone who is going to drive in a large city, particularly Houston, Texas (no test required). DO NOT TAKE STUDENT ON FREEWAY UNTIL WE DO.
  4. Pass the Final Driving Test:
Included in the final driving lesson is a 15-20 minute driving exam covering the skills the student has been practicing on during the previous lessons.

The Orange Sheet indicates that the student has not completed 1 or more of the above areas. The areas needing improvement should be marked on the Orange Sheet and also how to proceed to improve in these areas. Normally, more practice will be needed from you and extra lessons with us. To give you some ideas in how to assist your student go to How to Coach My Student in the Car. Just follow the instructions and your student should improve. Remember, driving is a skill like golf or tennis and the only way to improve is with practice, practice, practice!

In summary, the Orange Sheet should be self-explanatory in what to do to successfully complete the course. Many students need extra lessons to master the skills needed to be a collision free driver, so nothing is wrong with your student. Thank you for allowing us to train your student to drive.
