Do I have to get court permission?
You must receive permission from the court and pay a court fee. The course will NOT count for a ticket dismissal if taken before permission is given. The court will give you a deadline to take course and to return the certificate. Be sure to be aware of your deadline.
How much insurance discount do I receive?
10% - good for three (3) years.
If my teenager has 10% insurance discount already, can he/she get additional 10% insurance discount from the ticket dismissal course?
If teenager already has the Driver Education Insurance Discount, they cannot receive the Defensive Driving Discount.
Can I take Defensive Driving more than once a year?
By law you only can take the ticket dismissal course once a year.
What is MVR?
(MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD) The court will give you a form to mail to Austin for this or you can order it online. Student will present MVR with the Defensive Driving Certificate to the court.
